HOUSE GROUPS AT hEATH

HEATH'S HOUSE GROUPS

Community values are integral to Heath's ethos.  Alongside being part of the whole school community at Heath, each child in the school belongs to a smaller community by being a member of a house group.  Upon joining the school, each child joins a house group and will stay part of that group throughout their time at the school.

House groups foster the sense of belonging and community by providing the children with opportunities to work as part of a team with children of different ages throughout the school.  The house points that the children earn are put towards totals for our termly house cup competition each term.  The children also have opportunities to compete for their house at sports days and in our new inter-house tournaments.

Our four house groups:

  • The Dragon House Group
  • The Griffin House Group
  • The Phoenix House Group
  • The Thunderbird House Group

HOUSE COMPETITIONS AT HEATH

We have launched new inter-house competitions this year.  The first competition took place in November between children in Year Three who had been nominated by the children in their house groups.  In a tournament led by our house captains, the Year 3 children had to use communication and teamwork skills to guide each other through a maze whilst being blindfolded.

HEATH'S HOUSE CAPTAINS

Each year, our Year Six pupils vote to select two captains for each house group.  The house captains represent the school in an ambassadorial roll and lead their house groups within the school.  Amongst their duties in the school, the house captains run the inter-house tournaments and captain their houses at our sports days.
