Our Aims and Ethos

Heath School’s aim is to provide a successful, positive learning experience for pupils and their parents.

To support this aim, we will maintain a culture of mutual trust and respect.  We believe children have a right to feel safe and happy at school.

We will challenge and motivate children in their learning, praise their efforts and celebrate their achievements.  We expect everyone to do their best.

We will seek the support of parents in the realisation of our aims because we believe.

How we meet our aims

Educational standards and

Achievement opportunities

Through a

Happy, caring and stimulating environment.

This extract from a poem by R.L. Stevenson, embodies much of the school’s philosophy:

  • If a child lives with criticism
  • He learns to condemn.
  • If a child lives with ridicule
  • He learns to be shy.
  • If a child lives with tolerance
  • He learns to be patient.
  • If a child lives with encouragement
  • He learns to have confidence.
  • If a child lives with love around him
  • He learns to bring love into the world.
